چکیده

Kutylowski et al. have introduced a voter-verifiable electronic voting scheme ”a practical voting scheme with receipts”, which provides each voter with a receipt. The voter can use her receipt to check whether her vote has been properly counted in the final tally, but she cannot use the receipt to prove others how she has voted. Another interesting property of this scheme is that, thanks to the repetitive robustness mix network, the ballot tallying phase only needs to be audited if the final results fail to achieve some conditions. However, this paper will show that this scheme is vulnerable to some threats, adversaries can not only violate voter privacy, but also forge the election result.

A Practical Voting Scheme with Receipts

David Chaum introduced Visual Voting scheme in which a voter obtains a paper receipt from a voting machine. This receipt can be used to verify that his vote was counted in the final tally, but cannot be used for vote selling. The Chaum’s system requires sophisticated printers and application of randomized partial checking (RPC) method. We propose a complete design of a voting system that preser...

Improving the Farnel Voting Scheme

Farnel is a voting scheme which first introduced the concept of a ballot box to exchange votes. Recently, Araújo et al. improved this concept to accomplish a voter-verifiable scheme in which voters receive copies of receipts of one or more randomly selected previous cast votes. The scheme, however, relies on a strong requisite to achieve security: trustworthy talliers. With the goal of removing...

Towards trustworthy e-voting using paper receipts

Current electronic voting systems are not sufficient to satisfy trustworthy elections as they do not provide any proofs or confirming evidences of their honesty. This lack of trustworthiness is the main reason why e-voting is not widely spread even though e-voting is expected to be more efficient than the current plain paper voting. Many experts believe that the only way to assure voters that t...

A secure and anonymous voter-controlled election scheme

Despite the massive improvements in technology the goal of having accurate, anonymous and voter-verifiable elections has not yet been realized. The existing electronic voting schemes that provide secret voter-verifiable receipts are based on ‘classical’ mix-nets. These mix-nets approaches do not scale well and are designed to provide a fixed degree of anonymity which cannot be increased by the ...

Double voter perceptible blind signature based electronic voting protocol

Mu et al. have proposed an electronic voting protocol and claimed that it protects anonymity of voters, detects double voting and authenticates eligible voters. It has been shown that it does not protect voter's privacy and prevent double voting. After that, several schemes have been presented to fulfill these properties. However, many of them suffer from the same weaknesses. In this p...
